What is the difference between a midwife and an OB/GYN?

A midwife is a trained healthcare provider who specializes in low-risk prenatal care, labor and delivery, and postpartum support with a focus on natural, patient-centered birth experiences. An OB/GYN is a physician trained to manage both routine and high-risk pregnancies, as well as gynecological conditions requiring medical or surgical intervention. At Cherry Hills Midwifery, Obstetrics, & Gynecology, both midwifery care and obstetric care are available under one roof.

Where do you deliver babies?

Our providers deliver at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, CO. Swedish Medical Center is a leading regional hospital known for exceptional maternity and newborn care. Our midwives and OB/GYN team will be with you throughout labor and delivery.

Do you offer prenatal care?

Yes. We offer comprehensive prenatal care through both our midwifery and obstetrics programs. Our providers will guide you through every stage of your pregnancy — from your first trimester through postpartum care. Learn more on our maternity care page.

What is a well woman exam and how often should I have one?

A well woman exam is an annual preventive health visit that includes a physical exam, breast exam, pelvic exam, and cervical cancer screening (Pap smear/HPV test). Most providers recommend an annual visit, though specific screening frequencies may vary based on your age and health history.

What is bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT)?

Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy uses hormones derived from natural plant sources that are chemically identical to those your body produces. BHRT can help relieve symptoms of perimenopause and menopause, including hot flashes, mood changes, sleep disruption, and weight gain. We also offer BioTE pellet therapy, a convenient long-acting form of BHRT.

What is BioTE and how is it different from other hormone therapy?

BioTE is a bioidentical hormone pellet therapy in which tiny pellets are inserted just beneath the skin. The pellets dissolve gradually over 3–6 months, delivering consistent hormone levels without the peaks and valleys associated with pills or patches. Many patients prefer pellet therapy for its convenience and steady symptom relief.

Do you offer Semaglutide for weight loss?

Yes. Our practice offers a medically supervised Semaglutide weight loss program using compounded Semaglutide at a lower cost than the brand-name Wegovy. The program includes weekly injections, weight checks, and provider support for the first 12 weeks, with transition to home administration thereafter.

What aesthetic services do you offer?

We offer a variety of medical aesthetic services, including Botox for wrinkle reduction, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) for skin tone and texture, Laser Genesis for collagen stimulation and skin rejuvenation, and laser hair removal for smooth, long-lasting results.

What STI testing and treatment services do you provide?

Our team provides comprehensive STI testing and treatment, including testing for chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, herpes, HIV, and other infections. We offer a confidential, non-judgmental environment to discuss your sexual health and receive appropriate care or treatment.

Do you provide care for teenagers?

Yes. We welcome teenage patients and offer contraception counseling, annual gynecologic exams, STI testing, and other reproductive health services appropriate for teens. Our providers create a safe, comfortable, and age-appropriate environment for young women.

How do I access the patient portal?

Do you offer Pap smears and HPV testing?

Yes. Pap smear and HPV screening are a routine part of well woman care at our practice. Pap smears help detect abnormal cervical cells early, while HPV testing identifies the presence of high-risk strains of the human papillomavirus. Your provider will advise you on the appropriate screening schedule for your age and history.

What treatment options are available for heavy periods?

We offer several treatment options for heavy menstrual bleeding, including hormonal therapies, IUDs, and other minimally invasive approaches. Our providers will evaluate your situation and recommend the most appropriate course of treatment based on your symptoms, health history, and preferences.

What is involved in menopause management at your practice?

Our menopause management services include evaluation and treatment of perimenopausal and menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, mood changes, and sleep disruption. We also provide osteoporosis screening and bone health guidance. Treatment options include hormone therapy, BioTE pellet therapy, and non-hormonal approaches tailored to your individual needs.
